When we arrived 3 years ago in Bangkok, to
start work here, my husband picked up a
Goodwill leaflet at the Neilson Hayes Library,
Surawong. Through this gesture, we made
contact, and Goodwill successfully placed Pam
with us, our dedicated maid and family friend.
We have learnt so much about NE Thailand
through the many anecdotes she shares when I
get back from work: we like to connect. Pam
has been working full time as maid and carer of
my daughter Briana age 10 years, and son
Tristan age 16 years. We have sought to
provide opportunities for Pam according to her
gifting; the most successful of these has been a
morning release cooking workshop with 'the
Italian Lunchbox' which provides a fun time
learning new - usually, Italian based quick
meals: yum! As I sit and browse the Goodwill
website, I continue to be so impressed with this
organisation that goes from strength to
strength. Actually, I long to learn, and be able
to contribute in some practical way. Three
cheers for Goodwill!
This is a really good organisation.
I went to see the office and it was very nicely
presented. Decent environment. And very
sincere to help.
I will most certainly be directed my donations
to this Foundation.
My ex-girlfriend who is from the poor northeast
and has no decent job and a 5-year old
daughter to support, should have taken up
courses at the Foundation to improve herself.
But I guess it's hard to change the spot on the
leopard.
Hope that more women can find the courses
and help provided useful for making their lives
better than what it is now.

I visited here a few years ago when I came back
from volunteering in Issan. It is a marvellous
project and I hope to visit again and perhaps get
some literature to share with friends back home.
Keep up the great work and I wish you the best for
2010 and may see you in 2011 (I hope).
